Our Story
Lunada Bay Tile began in a two‑car garage in 2000 when founder Carl Steadly set out to create handcrafted tiles inspired by the relaxed elegance of Southern California and the refined simplicity of Japanese design. What started with artful glass tiles influenced by nature, painting, sculpture, and textiles grew to include a diverse portfolio of ceramic and stone collections—each shaped by a pursuit of texture, color, and quiet beauty. As the brand evolved, so did its collaborations, including an inspiring partnership with Tommy Bahama.
Lunada Bay
The name Lunada Bay Tile honors the striking Palos Verdes Peninsula, a constant reminder of the natural landscapes and coastal spirit that infuse every piece we create.
About Us
For more than twenty-five years, Lunada Bay Tile has pushed the boundaries of tile design, helping homeowners, designers, and architects express their artistic visions across residential and commercial spaces. Our work blends traditional craftsmanship with modern influence, resulting in surfaces that reflect simplicity, texture, and the inherent character of the artisan’s hand. Drawing inspiration from nature, architecture, art, and the rhythm of coastal living, we design materials that elevate spaces into places of sanctuary and style. Our collections are available exclusively through authorized design showrooms, where knowledgeable partners guide clients through thoughtful selection and quality installation.
